About Dr. Samer Akel

My Job for the last 18 years, as a certified consultant in Hematology and Oncology with western education (German Board, European Board) was at Erlangen University, Nuernberg Klinikum in Germany and at Tishreen University Hospital- Cancer Center. My responsibility is to take care of patients in the ward, attending very heavy oncology-hematology clinic three times per a week and MDT two times a week. I supervised residents and fellows in our hematology and oncology program.

All kinds of solid Tumors (Immunotherapy, Targeted therapy, chemotherapy and hormonal treatment): Breast, Lung, Gynecological ( Ovarian, Tubal, Endometrial and Cervical), upper GI (Esophagus, Stomach, Small bowel) and colorectal, Pancreatic, Liver, Renal (kidney), Bladder, Prostate, Sarcoma, Skin including melanoma, Head and neck, Brain cancers

Benign and Malignant Hematological diseases (Chemotherapy (oral, SC, IV and Intrathecal), Targeted Therapy and Immunotherapy):

Screening of hematological diseases in case of clinical signs
Diagnosis and treatment of tumor of lymph nodes (aggressive or indolent lymphoma),
Diagnosis and treatment of Multiple Myeloma, myelodysplastic disorders, myeloproliferative disorders, chronic& acute leukemia’s,
Management of hematological auto immune disorders and auto immune thrombocytopenia
Anemia (iron deficiency, Vit B12 deficiency, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, G6PD deficiency),
Management of disorders causing hemorrhagic or clotting disorders, Treatment includes
Adverse events management, Follow-ups and long-term toxicities follow-up.
We are providing all diagnostic procedures for hematological diseases including bone marrow biopsy & aspiration with all relating morphological, histopathological, Immunohistochemistry, Immunophenotyping and cytogenetic testing. We are providing in patient admission for diagnosis and treatment all the hematological disorders.

Palliative care: Palliative chemotherapy and symptom control for improved quality of life in advance cancer patients.
